CommentsWe visited Honeypot on the 19th and 20th of August and this was our first experience of camping as adults, we absolutely loved the peace and quiet and enjoyed watching others fish, the Dolphin pub up the road (Lovely evening) and the little cafe/restaurant over the road (great breakfast!) both were absolutely delightful. The showers and toilets are basic but clean and always hot water and toilet paper what more can you ask for? The owner was great and was very helpful about the area. As I type this I am trying to book for 2 weekends time!, we thoroughly recommend a visit if your looking for a chill out in a lovely village. See you soon, Kenny & Joanna (Colchester)
CommentsJUST RETURNED FROM OUR FIRST VISIT (our first of many we hope)WHAT A GREAT WEEK WE HAD. THE FISHING WAS GREAT,ITS ONE WAY WAY OF WORKING OUT THE SITE INCLIDING THE TOILETS AND SHOWERS WERE SPOTLESSLY CLEAN AND THE OWNERS WERE VERY HELPFULL.HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON .KIM & PAUL (31A) Date:

CommentsHi im visiting your site on monday for a week, u seem a lovely family with a beautiful set-up and u let us on with the works van as most other places think we are travellers and cock their noses up at us looking forward to the fishing what is the 'HOT' bait for success?? Date:
CommentsJust returned from our first visit to Honeypot. This was my wife and childrens first every camping weekend. What a beautiful, peaceful setting, very clean and tidy and well organised. Oh, and great fishing too. A credit to the owners. We shall return. P.S. We were nearly put off our visit because of the comments from the unnamed author of 22/6/05. What a load of Tosh. Dont let these comments put you off. The LATHAMS (virgin campers)
Commentswe are new to camping while looking on the internet we found this site as we both have very stresful jobs we thought it was just what we were looking for so booked up.we are so glad we did. The site is basic but what do you need there is a pub a very short walk away, there is a little shop just across the road. the site itsef is very clean and frendly, it is so peaceful the fishing is great, we did not have a go but enjoyed watching, we intend to try our hand next time. we have been to the site twice now and cant wait to go again. If you dont like peace and quite or frendly people, then this is not the place for you.WE LOVED IT. Thank you will be seeing you soon. JACKY&MARTIN DIXON
Comments12 July 2005 We have been to Honeypot on three occasions now first in a tent and now a caravan. The site is quiet and restful with Mr Smith most helpful each time. Yes the toilet block is basic but there is plenty of hot water and it is clean and tidy. Compared to some other sites that advertise the same facilities it is a little gem.The author of the comments from the 22/6 do not truly reflect the peace and quiet this site can offer and should try a packed, cramped, noisy commercial site for comparison. We shall be returning very soon for yet another quiet weekend. Regards Mike & Mandy.
CommentsJust returned from my first visit. Despite the appalling weather (for which no blame can be attached to the site owners!) I had a truly wonderful break. Peaceful, relaxing, good fishing, good food at the Dolphin just up the road, and a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I shall certainly be returning. Many thanks to all. Dave Knipe, Ipswich.
CommentsThere is a very good fishing shop in Diss town centre. If you go to the main street, near the lake end - as you walk up from the lake, stand next to the ice cream stand, look forward and you will see a street going up hill, the fishing shop is on the right as you go round the bend and onwards for a few yards. Hope this helps. Garry & Lynn (Honeypot regulars)
CommentsWe are new to honey pot can you buy all your fishing bait locally . looking forward to our holiday kim and paul
CommentsIn going to be camping and fishing in august can you tell me where you can buy your fishing bait please can anyone help! Date:
CommentsJust back from our 3rd visit of this year. Site is lovely and clean. Toilets are always clean + plenty of hot water. Mr & Mrs Smith are always friendly and helpful. Looking forward to you again next month. Adrian, Carol and Chris Sangster. Needingworth. Cambs.
CommentsIn reply to the nameless author of 22/6, if Honeypot is so "diabolical", then when I do get there find that the site is full of very happy campers? The toilet facilities are basic but very clean, piping hot water, waste disposal is more than adequate. I would assume that this anonymous writer supervised his/her children on the play area as only wild and badly behaved children could possibly come to harm on there. No modern contraptions, but frames that require a childs imagination to have fun. I would like to add that I have a feeling that I may have been on the site as the same time as this nameless person and if it is you that has three children, then I hope you dont return to Honeypot to spoil the calm and tranquility that the rest of us campers adore. Mrs C. ( a regular visitor)

CommentsWe have been going to " THE HONEYPOT " for 7 years and we cannot recognise anything about the comments from (nameless 22/6/05) which we would agree with. Yes, the showers are not state of the art but always clean, with free toilet tissue, shower gel, all hot water is free. Rubbish goes in the Biffa Bins and our two youngsters play endlessly on the climbing frames If you want bells & whistles with piped 'Musak' in the toilet block, then forget it, this peaceful place stands alone for peace & tranquility and IS unlike any other site we have ever been to. TAYLOR FAMILY, ELY.
CommentsThe facilities were improved last season - reply to previous comment. The comments referred to above from the unnamed contributor have been removed because they are not borne out by subsequent campers and it was thought they were put there for 'other' reasons. Webmaster
CommentsI will be staying at the Honeypot caravan and camping park this year and am a bit worried that people have found the toilets and showers below reasonable standard. Can anyone reassure me!? James
CommentsWe enjoyed it despite the weather - nice location and the ponds are great.
CommentsA thoroughly enjoyable camping weekend was had by all. The site was very relaxing and suited our needs. The fishing was a great attraction and the children were very pleased with the number of fish they caught. We will definitely be coming back in the summer and will recommend this site to all friends and family! The Woodhouse Family Date:
CommentsWe were really disappointed with the shower and toilet facilities as we thought they could be more modernised - we would be willing to pay extra for excellent toilet and shower facilities. However, our stay was really pleasant, you could not wish for a nicer, quieter environment with friendly people. Thanks for a nice stay. Rachael and Anthony wills
CommentsEven though the weather drove us home two days early we really enjoyed our stay. We especially appreciated the friendly and peaceful atmosphere, our chats about all creatures great and small with Mr Smith and most of all the wonderful care and attention that has gone into making such a great site, especially the unpitched area for relaxing amongst trees and wildflowers. Hope the storms have blown over by now :-) Sheila and Michael (in the small tent from East London)
CommentsHoneypot Thanking you for a lovely break, really enjoyed it will be back next year hopefully with dog!!! The Wilsons plot 31a
CommentsWhy are all the measurements imperial?
CommentsIf you go to the site fees page you will find the opening times. Webmaster
CommentsGreat Site, Great Location and so relaxing. This is the site to get away from it all. We have been to Wortham two years running and had such a spendid time. Would recommend to anyone as lots to see and do within easy reach of Wortham. Hugh & Claire Denton, Wales
CommentsAugust Bank Holiday,Our First time Caravaning, was not sure what to expect, had a peaceful and relaxing holiday, caught some nice fish.Made new friends,it was most enjoyable.Made our second visit last weekend of the season and was as good as our first visit .Roll on next spring we will be back for more of the same. Terry & Sheila Fordham, Rochford, Essex. 29/09/03
Comments22 September 03 We have been twice this year, on our last visit I managed to catch a 10lb 3oz common carp along with around 20 4-6lb mirrors. Had a lovely time and the weather was beautiful. Needless to say we will be back next year and look forward to seeing Mr Smith again. Your sincerely Mr and Mrs Harris (dovercourt)
CommentsIf you go to the site fees page you will find the opening times. Webmaster CommentsWe tried to book for a w/e a couple of years ago but you were all full. This year we have been so busy and unable to camp due to family bereavements; in any event I think the tent would have been far too hot for me in July/August! Anyway just got around to finding your web-site and only one 'minor complaint' - no season open dates listed and no plan layout of the site to get an idea of where the pitches are in relation to the lakes/showers/roadways etc.
Commentswe spent 11 nights at honeypot in august, FANTASTIC, recommend it to anyone wanting the quieter holiday. only one snag not open longer in the year, as would of loved to come back in october. but rest assured will be back next year!! the street family. Date:
CommentsHave visited the site with my family for the past 3 years, 2003 will be our fourth visit. My husband and 12 year old son love the fishing, the dogs and I love the other lake for peace and quiet, we are always fascinated by the 'tame'coi carp. This is a country site, in the country you get spiders and lots of other things!!! Lynn, Garry, Daniel - From Bolton.
CommentsFirst visit to Honeypot, and will not be our last! Spent 9 days onsite - unfortunately cut short (apologies for not saying goodbye Mr & Mrs Smith - but had to dash!) Was such a relaxing getaway, and the fishing superb - 2 personal bests at an 8lb Mirror Carp and an 11lb Common Carp - and such a beautifully kept lake. Also a great base for 'exploring' the countryside. Recommend 'The Dolphin' for Sunday lunch, and the 'chippy' next door! . Will be back very soon! Sarah Searson & Liz Morris (Essex)
CommentsAll booked up and looking forward to a nice break. Gonna catch me a big Carp! Hope the weather keeps up :-)
CommentsA wonderful campsite that I can't recommend highly enough. Very peaceful and very friendly. Tina Date:
CommentsJust spent 8 nights at the honeypot and we can confirm it is very quiet and peaceful. We also enjoyed the fishing as we have done for the last 5 years,my wife's best weight was 10lb 6oz and mine was 9lb14oz,and we caught many many more, as for the person that blanked for the whole weekend, try putting some bait on your hooks. We will continue to visit the Honeypot hopefully for many years to come.Thank you for your friendly welcome. Keith & Eileen Burgess (Bradwell Nr Gt Yarmouth)
CommentsJust returned home from a weekend stay at the 'Honeypot'. Nice site, lovely pitches, pleasant owners...

CommentsJust seen the website, looks idyllic and would love to come and stay for a long weekend away from everything! Just hope there are some pitches free! Ruth, University of Essex, Colchester
CommentsAfter visiting Honeypot last year we thought you couldn't improve it, well we were wrong, this year you managed to fix the weather! And the fish are getting bigger too! (shhh) Thanks for a brilliant week we will definitely be back. David, Clare, Daniel and Leanne Tough
CommentsJust booked on line (I hope).Looking forward to a peaceful week. Nice web site. Debbie Colchester
CommentsJust spent a lovely weekend on your site. Much appreciated fact that you picked up grass cuttings as they do paddle into our tents, vans etc. especially when it's wet. Nice clean facillities in exceptionally pleasant surroundings. We will recommend and certainly return. Many thanks Michael & Julie.....Cleethorpes
